What do you need from me to start a Starter site?

3 things: your text, your photographs and your logo. Once those are with us the site is typically live in about 7 days, at £495 fixed. When a small site takes 3 weeks instead of one, it is almost always because the content arrived late rather than because the build did.

What will a Starter site cost me each year after launch?

About £70 to £320 a year in total: a domain at roughly £10 to £20 and hosting at roughly £60 to £300, both paid straight to those providers. Nothing is paid to us after the £495, and nothing stops working if you never speak to us again.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a small business website cost?

£495 in the UK, or $625 in the US, as a one off fixed price for a one to five page website. It is agreed in writing before any work starts and it does not change. UK market rates for the same job run from about £495 to £1,500 built professionally, so this sits at the bottom of the professional band rather than in the template bracket below it.

What is included in the £495 Starter website?

One to five pages, a custom design drawn for your business rather than a theme you configure, a mobile first build, basic SEO and analytics setup, a working contact form, and hosting set up for you. You own the design, the code, the domain and the content at the end.

How long does a Starter website take to build?

About seven days, once we have your text, photographs and logo. If the content is not ready the build waits on that rather than on us, which is the most common reason a small site takes three weeks instead of one.

Is there a monthly fee?

No. The £495 is a one off. The only ongoing costs are a domain at roughly £10 to £20 a year and hosting at roughly £60 to £300 a year, both paid to those providers directly rather than to us. Nothing is rented from us, and nothing stops working if you walk away.

What if I need more than five pages?

The Business package at £1,495 covers up to fifteen pages, a CMS you can edit yourself, payments and ninety days of support. If you are between the two, tell us what the site has to do and we will say which one fits, including when the answer is the cheaper one.

Do I own the website?

Yes, all of it: the design, the code, the domain and the content. There is no proprietary platform and no licence to keep paying. If you move to another studio later you take the whole site with you.
